Back to School Lip Products

I feel like during the month of August, when everyone is preparing for back to school, we tend to want to reinvent ourselves. This often goes hand in hand with makeup and hair and fashion. So, I have decided to do a few posts on what I think are my favorite products to wear to school. Here we go...!

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain & Balm ($8.99, drugstores): This is a gorgeous lip stain, mine is in the color Passion. It is bright and very long wearing, perfect for school. Since I got mine they have come out with more colors, more natural and suited for school.

MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner ($14.50, MAC stores & counters): This is super moisturizing, and can be worn over a lipstick, lipstain, and by itself for a glossy wash of color. This is something I know I will be wearing a lot during this school year!

PosieTint ($29, Sephora): This is a bit pricey, but so worth it! PosieTint can be worn as a light pink color, or built up to be a hot hot pink color for night! This is super duper long wearing, and won't come off for hours so you're covered for school! Plus, the bottle is SO big, that you really will have to try to run out of this stuff!

Benetint ($29, Sephora): Same concept as PosieTint, but Benetint is a berry color. Super long wearing, and you will never run out!

Korres Lip Butters ($12, Sephora): These are the most moisturizing lip products I have ever used in my life! No joke, when I first applied this to my lips, I actually thought, "This feels exactly like butter!" And it's true! If you want a more natural look for school or work or whatever, these would definitely be your best bet.

C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve ($5.50, Bath & Body Works): These have no color to them, but are very moisturizing and are perfect for that "no makeup" makeup look.

EOS Lip Balms ($3, drugstores): These are super moisturizing, and just like the C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve, they are perfect for the no makeup kind of gal.

Review: Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate

Korres Lip Butters have always been a holy grail product for many bloggers and reviewers. And I have to agree! This product is probably one of--if not my top!--lip conditioning treatment/butter/whatever. This has a creamy texture that is incredible and literally feels like butter on your lips. There is also a sheer wash of color, so it sort of looks like you are wearing a lip color, when really you are just conditioning your lips with a soft, creamy lip butter!

I truly cannot find anything wrong with this product. Well, actually, the price isn't ideal, but with so many makeup brands these days, it is hard to find one that has cheap products. Still, $12 isn't bad for the incredible product you are recieving. 

I would definitely see myself using this during school as well, because it comes off more natural and more effortless. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

The Anti-Makeup Girl's Guide to Makeup

"No makeup" makeup look anyone? My friend is very conservative, and does not agree with makeup being used on a daily basis---or on any basis, for that matter. Today I finally convinced her to play model for me and transform her into a chiseled beauty. What do I mean by that? She has cheekbones and even skin! Right now she is next to me, telling me the only reason she actually played model: I bought her dinner. Paninis!

Now, onto the no makeup makeup look, for lazy girls or girls who oppose makeup.

Step 1: Conceal any redness/blemishes/acne. I used Benefit's Erase Paste. Use a concealer brush, or just your clean fingers! Apply this in any under eye circles, redness, or blackheads to giev yourself a nice, even skintone.

Step 2: Blush! Find a nice rosy, pink shade and use a blush brush, or your clean fingers. Smile to find the apples of your cheeks, and swirl the blush onto your cheeks, then blend it up towards your temples.

Step 3: Add a smidge of bronzer. I applied bronzer straight to my blush brush, and had my model suck in her cheeks. Where her cheeks sunk in, I applied the bronzer. Make sure to blend out any harsh edges between your blush and bronzer!

Step 4: Eyeshadow. I chose a taupe color to just hide any oily lids. I just applied this all over the lid. Nothing too fancy. No crease or contour color.

Step 5: Mascara. My friend is extremely hesitant about eye makeup. When I told her we were going to add some mascara, well...it took some convincing to get her to do it. So, I literally just barely applied some black mascara. I used Josie Maran's Get One Give One Instant Natural Volume Argan Mascara. Well, that's a mouthful. I applied this to the tippy tops of her lashes, just to make them appear fuller, and her eyes bigger.

Step 6: Lips! This was another thing that my model was hesitant about. I used Victoria Secret's Beauty Rush Limited Edition Lip Gloss in Cherry Cola. She liked the smell of it! I took my lip brush and just applied a small amount to give her a dewy finish on her lips, but not too dewy!

Now, you're done! The finished product?:

Doesn't she look gorgeous? And not too made-up, either!
