Not washing your brushes is terrible for your skin, because bacteria lingers on them in old and expired products. The bacteria can cause acne and breakouts and other unwanted blemishes! Granted, brush cleansers can get very expensive, and if you do actually wash them every time you use them, then you probably don't want to go through a bottle a week. So, I thought I would share how I clean my makeup brushes with you. </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><strong><u>WHAT YOU WILL NEED:</u></strong><br />
<br />
<ul><li style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">a plate (paper, plastic, or ceramic)</li>
<li style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">olive oil</li>
<li style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">anti-bacterial soap (You can use regular soap, but anti-bacterial will actually slough away all of the bacteria that can lead to acne and breakouts!)</li>
</ul><strong><u>HOW TO:</u></strong><br />
<br />
1. <strong>Place a small dollop of olive oil on one side of the plate, and a few pumps of soap on the opposite side.</strong><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifD15dq1KFrTsdOcK1fbYUIFgvOAh7i4jh_zTUe78uxxjTSWQIlbJy_TQHsHnsTiocRu9MWuEYj3x16lv4qZr2CeYAKKy9ML-sZD6vphZ6di6nZYfN_SfoKYhYLTwZXrDdLVvG7h-_eTjq/s1600/DSCF9387.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" qaa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifD15dq1KFrTsdOcK1fbYUIFgvOAh7i4jh_zTUe78uxxjTSWQIlbJy_TQHsHnsTiocRu9MWuEYj3x16lv4qZr2CeYAKKy9ML-sZD6vphZ6di6nZYfN_SfoKYhYLTwZXrDdLVvG7h-_eTjq/s320/DSCF9387.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">2. <strong>Swish the brush back and forth on the plate, so the olive oil and soap is distributed evenly throughout the brush hairs.</strong></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

This often goes hand in hand with makeup and hair and fashion. So, I have decided to do a few posts on what I think are my favorite products to wear to school. Here we go...!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-hJO4L0HmIOc3F2nfXwLfkhoBTDg4xedWqEmKYf27BoHDQCTiJtnq-et9FybUdoB-1mAj9sDj2qSBTzNIriRM9bwFaW9t-k91U1yL_P0zQFSgKrl29ZabtUkY8LuiOsvErjN_cmBdWBtS/s1600/lip+products.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" qaa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-hJO4L0HmIOc3F2nfXwLfkhoBTDg4xedWqEmKYf27BoHDQCTiJtnq-et9FybUdoB-1mAj9sDj2qSBTzNIriRM9bwFaW9t-k91U1yL_P0zQFSgKrl29ZabtUkY8LuiOsvErjN_cmBdWBtS/s400/lip+products.JPG" width="345" /></a></div><br />
<strong>Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain & Balm ($8.99, drugstores)</strong>: This is a gorgeous lip stain, mine is in the color Passion. It is bright and very long wearing, perfect for school. Since I got mine they have come out with more colors, more natural and suited for school.<br />
<br />
<strong>MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner ($14.50, MAC stores & counters)</strong>: This is super moisturizing, and can be worn over a lipstick, lipstain, and by itself for a glossy wash of color. This is something I know I will be wearing a lot during this school year!<br />
<br />
<strong>PosieTint ($29, Sephora)</strong>: This is a bit pricey, but so worth it! PosieTint can be worn as a light pink color, or built up to be a hot hot pink color for night! This is super duper long wearing, and won't come off for hours so you're covered for school! Plus, the bottle is SO big, that you really will have to try to run out of this stuff!<br />
<br />
<strong>Benetint ($29, Sephora):</strong> Same concept as PosieTint, but Benetint is a berry color. Super long wearing, and you will never run out!<br />
<br />
<strong>Korres Lip Butters ($12, Sephora): </strong>These are the most moisturizing lip products I have ever used in my life! No joke, when I first applied this to my lips, I actually thought, "This feels exactly like butter!" And it's true! If you want a more natural look for school or work or whatever, these would definitely be your best bet. <br />
<br />
<strong>C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve ($5.50, Bath & Body Works):</strong> These have no color to them, but are very moisturizing and are perfect for that "no makeup" makeup look.<br />
<br />
<strong>EOS Lip Balms ($3, drugstores): </strong>These are super moisturizing, and just like the C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve, they are perfect for the no makeup kind of gal.<br />
<br />
<br />
So there are my suggestions for back to school lip products. I hope you enjoyed this post, I tried to have a balance of budget friendly and high end products for you :) Leave requests and thoughts on this post in the comments, and have a great day! I have decided to write a post about surviving your first year of high school. I thought I would give you some pointers, tips, and basically things I wish I had known when I was a freshman in high school. Let's get started!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwej8Bou1PD_81OxJyisnTd0hVUBmuO6QaplCmCKYJ_TEluMOX1C9A_FOdsSg8jf0Sb1hWeXlps-MtNvx_TbtGMd7GjbW9Qj7AZIkFBIB9AEnry5Z-8mZ75k0Ls4tjaKN_8ZtkFiRnA2zF/s1600/school.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="261" qaa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwej8Bou1PD_81OxJyisnTd0hVUBmuO6QaplCmCKYJ_TEluMOX1C9A_FOdsSg8jf0Sb1hWeXlps-MtNvx_TbtGMd7GjbW9Qj7AZIkFBIB9AEnry5Z-8mZ75k0Ls4tjaKN_8ZtkFiRnA2zF/s320/school.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now if only everyone was that excited to go to school...</div><br />
<br />
<strong>1. <u>Always </u>walk on the right side of the hallway, and DON'T stop to talk to your friends! </strong>When you are your friends are talking at lunch or outside of school, then you can talk, and plan to meet up somewhere in your intersecting routes and chat. Don't stop at their locker and clog up the hallways! Hallways are small as it is-- no need to make it smaller. If you are walking on the right side of the hallway, that means the people in the other direction are walking on their right side, and there's no need for shoving and discomfort. And please, don't be that one jerk who thinks it is funny to walk right in the middle of traffic going the opposite direction.<br />
<br />
<strong>2. Get involved. </strong>I know, I know. You have heard this one time and time again. I thought that people were just trying to get me to be a part of school. But, I actually have to let you know that getting involved it the #1 way to meet people. Joining a team, or club, or even showing up to football games forces you to interact with new people, and make friends. I really wish someone would have told me that I would regret not getting more involved than I had.<br />
<br />
<strong>3. STOP obsessing over boys.</strong> One of the very first things that freshman do is obsess about boys. To be honest, they act like little pigeons. Now, I'm not saying I didn't do this, because I did. I'm just letting you know that there is so much more to high school than just the boys. "High school isn't about finding your groom, it's about finding your bridesmaids."<br />
<br />
<strong>4. Stop procrastinating, and start doing your work in advance.</strong> This is something that I actually followed a lot during freshman year, and I am so thankful that I did. I remember I had this one class that had an essay and a current event due each week, and sometimes even two essays. So, I remembered that if I got it all done in the beginning of the week, I could actually do something with my friends over the weekend. And it may sound nerdy, but I did some projects and assignments weeks in advance, because they always were due within the same week. This is one of the biggest tips I could give you!<br />
<br />
<strong>5. Don't do anything outlandish until you are sure you're ready. </strong>I think that is self-explanatory.<br />
<br />
<strong>6. Don't hold grudges.</strong> I know that I held a grudge from this one girl who I was best friends with in middle school, and then we weren't friends anymore, and I brought that grudge to high school with me as a freshman. I wish I hadn't, I should have let go, even though it hurt very much at the time. The truth is, people change, and you need to embrace changes with open arms. In fact, if you can't embrace changes, then maybe you yourself need to change a little. <br />
<br />
I feel like I am saying "don't" too much, and I need to tell you what TO do...<br />
<br />
<strong>7. DO take a step back from the situation, and look at it from a different perspective. It may not be as bad as it seems. </strong>Oh boy, I wish I had known this one! I was always a bit of a drama queen, and maybe if I had gained a different perspective, I wouldn't have had half as many problems. It may seem like the end of the world now, but in a year, do you think you will actually remember it? If you will remember it, do you think it will seem as big of a deal as it is now? You may be thinking the answer is yes, but 90% of the time, it will be no. So, don't sweat the small things, and just focus on having fun.<br />

I hope all is well. I'm sorry I haven't been posting lately. I broke my laptop screen, so right now I am writing this post from the library. I felt like I had to put something up, and I saw this tag on my blog roll, and decided to tag myself haha! Now that I think of it, I probably should be doing some more back to school posts. But hey, not everyone is going back to school! So, anyways, here are some products that I regret buying and why!</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgipP_pB8NxPFpJTWYO1zQ8Leik5FEBLLiwZNDC5NGAX9B8Ug8aTxWLmIL1scO1RCxIPl-9RFLImCu-byTQ5lHHbL_EsotBdQga6UilSXFukCuqRtKZXWcEguPO9dtYxEn-qOdmJxS63ZOI/s1600/maybe.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" qaa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgipP_pB8NxPFpJTWYO1zQ8Leik5FEBLLiwZNDC5NGAX9B8Ug8aTxWLmIL1scO1RCxIPl-9RFLImCu-byTQ5lHHbL_EsotBdQga6UilSXFukCuqRtKZXWcEguPO9dtYxEn-qOdmJxS63ZOI/s200/maybe.jpg" width="150" /></a>1. <strong>Maybelline Pulse Perfection Mascara </strong>($12, drugstores): I was so excited to try this product after seeing commercials for it, <em>A vibrating mascara! How cool!</em> Of course I hadn't heard of the Lancome Oscillation mascara at that point, so this was futuristic beauty to me. I waited until CVS had a big 75% sale, and snagged this mascara for $2! I brought it home, and tried the mascara. Without the vibration, the mascara delivers okay results. However, with the vibration, my lashes look clumpy and spidery. I mean, that's cool if I'm looking for <a href="http://beautybrainswhatelse.blogspot.com/2011/08/back-to-school-fall-2011-beauty-trends.html">spidery lashes</a>, but for everyday, that's not me. Plus, the formula of this mascara is extremely wet, I can't ever picture it starting to dry up! </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo-bYxHEnwBC3rONBSJYtK53N7o1PWpC5zrHEhJYiSruTvPkyZEKF9YKvzsAvJgKrnoX220mHPkFLNdX-i4pZomMXH2s2TeLl1tY5_bEQQ73R7_o74802fuZ9TDqqbaEQaAOWiSErlRYA4/s1600/ulta-loose-powder-physicians-formulaorganic-wear-100-natural-origin-loose-powder.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" qaa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo-bYxHEnwBC3rONBSJYtK53N7o1PWpC5zrHEhJYiSruTvPkyZEKF9YKvzsAvJgKrnoX220mHPkFLNdX-i4pZomMXH2s2TeLl1tY5_bEQQ73R7_o74802fuZ9TDqqbaEQaAOWiSErlRYA4/s1600/ulta-loose-powder-physicians-formulaorganic-wear-100-natural-origin-loose-powder.jpg" /></a>2. <strong>Physician's Formula 100% Natural Origin Loose Powder</strong> ($10, drugstores): This powder delivers a powdery finish, not a natural one. You can actually see that there is powder on your face, and that freaks me out. Not to mention, loose powders are messy, and I can't handle that! I actually hate this product!</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheWiTi-Ugylhi3bhfUy-88EuCNrtjJtHxAitbHR57IHpmaRzrTBJW_rAhW2fw2EroGK-VbSg4GEZVaunMMZ9XFdQloxRvr9Hq9AKCg-GMjpw_bFhCnzBGgi6b4p2DXMvK_Tlam-Vb1MFTn/s1600/Revlon-Colorstay-foundation.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" qaa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheWiTi-Ugylhi3bhfUy-88EuCNrtjJtHxAitbHR57IHpmaRzrTBJW_rAhW2fw2EroGK-VbSg4GEZVaunMMZ9XFdQloxRvr9Hq9AKCg-GMjpw_bFhCnzBGgi6b4p2DXMvK_Tlam-Vb1MFTn/s200/Revlon-Colorstay-foundation.jpg" width="200" /></a>3. <strong>Revlon ColorStay Foundation: </strong>($8, drugstores): I'm actually really upset I didn't like this product because I know so many other people who love it. I actually tried hard to like it, but in the end it wasn't right for me. This foundation seemed to dry my skin out, even though I got the one for Normal/Dry skin (which I have!). It provided good coverage, but then dried my skin out, and I couldn't take it! I don't like this product.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM5zf6aLksiTl6S1iOgTsDvZtVTIef7s2A6hL7AdPWKXJPlJGKJa7HaLQhUc7Lil_CqXlsKSAA0DDhueiawMyTzp22mF2DzWmGCMPBkPltrBDwxJacBT6oVfmg0lDMYGmnhqhEbXMRm23N/s1600/colorstay.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" qaa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM5zf6aLksiTl6S1iOgTsDvZtVTIef7s2A6hL7AdPWKXJPlJGKJa7HaLQhUc7Lil_CqXlsKSAA0DDhueiawMyTzp22mF2DzWmGCMPBkPltrBDwxJacBT6oVfmg0lDMYGmnhqhEbXMRm23N/s200/colorstay.jpg" width="200" /></a>4. <strong>Maybelline SuperStay 24-Hour Concealer</strong> ($4, drugstores): First of all, I chose a shade too light for my skin, so that turned me off. Secondly, this concealer settled into the little lines under my eyes, and gave off a weird, powdery finish. One thing about this concealer, though is that it did stay for a very long time. I don't know if 24 hours, because I don't wear makeup that long, but it certainly stayed on throughout a whole day with no touch ups.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiclb_JFLzfXQP5bYTgqaMg_6VntrmE2qgU8CypQm2KwADUrWC1kQqkJUx7xhoIpNJMfjNTljC4jeCvIgkq87Q52AUHcqgzXBfcHReQGzyUtLtLQvCTRBiC37I7KXJHGwxjvsmrhR55LFIC/s1600/amethyst.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="148" qaa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiclb_JFLzfXQP5bYTgqaMg_6VntrmE2qgU8CypQm2KwADUrWC1kQqkJUx7xhoIpNJMfjNTljC4jeCvIgkq87Q52AUHcqgzXBfcHReQGzyUtLtLQvCTRBiC37I7KXJHGwxjvsmrhR55LFIC/s200/amethyst.bmp" width="200" /></a>5. <strong>Sally Hansen Amethyst Eye Palette </strong>($6, drugstores): I would like to start off by saying that the pigmentation is amazing, especially for a drugstore product. But, I have to say that I don't find that the colors blend well. I've tried to make an eye look from this palette, but I can't because they don't blend into each other as I would like them to. Additionally, I think I've worn this once, and only used one color in it. I will not repurchase this.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Alright, so there are a few products that I regret purchasing. I hope you enjoyed this post. Please leave post suggestions in the comments, because I will do every one suggested! This was requested in my <a href="http://beautybrainswhatelse.blogspot.com/2011/07/whats-in-my-vacation-makeup-bag.html">What's in My Travel Makeup Bag?</a> post I did about two and a half weeks ago. I included this in my bag, and wore it almost every day. I was also toying around with my camera and the macro feature on it, and realized that I can do pretty accurate swatches and photos for you guys so my reviews can be a little more in depth. So, let's get into the review!<br />
<br />
<strong><u>Who Is This Blush For?</u></strong> I don't think anyone with a dark skin tone can pull this one off. Light, fair, and medium skin tones are best suited for this blush. On olive and dark skin tones, I think it would look a bit chalky. Nonetheless, once my best friend comes over, I will definitely try it out on her and update you guys. <br />
<br />
<strong><u>The Color:</u></strong> On fair, light, and medium skin tones, this blush doesn't exactly give off a shimmery, peachy color. I would describe it more as a true pink color. Swatched, it gives off a shimmery light light pink. However, on the cheeks, it looks more like a pink flush. The pigmentation is okay, like a 4/10.<br />
<br />
<strong><u>The Consistency:</u></strong> A mousse is definitely a different way to apply blush. I have heard of liquid, cream, powder, pencils, and even gels. Though, mousse is one I have not heard. I was actually hesitant to try this blush because it was such a different form of blush. Though, it was in the 75% bin at CVS, and I wanted to expand my horizons (getting off topic...). When you rub the blush between your fingers, it sort of crumbles and forms little beads (not quite sure if that is a plus or minus).<br />
<br />
<strong><u>How to Apply It:</u> </strong>The only way I have applied this blush is to use my fingers, and dot the apples of my cheeks, and then blend it in. Although this is the only way I have applied it, you could use a small duo fibre stipple brush and tap the brush into the blush and then stipple it onto your cheeks. I know many people who use this blush with a small stippling brush. This is a way to not get your fingers as dirty when applying makeup!<br />
<br />
<strong><u>Longevity:</u></strong> This is absolutely, definitely, hands down NOT a long wear blush. On its own, this blush will fade within four hours. To ensure longer wear, you could apply a powder blush over this mousse blush to set the blush. A blush you could use is NARS Orgasm ($27, Sephora) or E.L.F. Candid Coral ($3, Target). <br />
<br />
<strong><u>To Sum It All Up:</u></strong> I think this is a very good blush. Those who are used to more pigmented blushes won't enjoy this blush, but I think for anyone starting out with makeup or is on a budget would find this blush suited to their needs. I would recommend this to a friend and will continue to use this blush.<br />

Today I am going to show a collection of outfits made from merchandise from Hollister Co. I know that a lot of middle/high school and college students shop there, so I thought it would be a good place to continue with my back to school series!<br />

For one, all people do not have access to all of these brands and stores I will be posting. Secondly, personal styles vary from person to person. That is why I decided to break up different outfits from different stores into different posts. This way, you can just go to my blog, scroll to the post with the store yhou are going to go shopping at, and see outfit suggestions in my post. Am I making sense? Haha, anyways, these are a collection of outfits from American Eagle for back to school.<br />

My last post in my back to school series was fall nail polish trends. I know not everyone is a nail polish addict like I am, but if you read my blog, then you probably have an obsession with makeup like I do. So, I thought I would share a few trends I have been noticing in the fall runways, as well as on celebrities, etc. So let's ge started!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDwIrE3emQX8tGWaiYLw-zdPHB1IS0s9xt4EQK1mDv7XgbIUbKDyi-dZXZBpiX_JWlB7dSvAZs19QdWwOloZ-EtM53AlTIl-Ghc8J_nPZwK5s0omEvjSNBsZalWHCxg8fyIrMqGoO51lct/s1600/spider.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="294" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDwIrE3emQX8tGWaiYLw-zdPHB1IS0s9xt4EQK1mDv7XgbIUbKDyi-dZXZBpiX_JWlB7dSvAZs19QdWwOloZ-EtM53AlTIl-Ghc8J_nPZwK5s0omEvjSNBsZalWHCxg8fyIrMqGoO51lct/s320/spider.png" t$="true" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">If spiders freak you out, maybe you can get your Annie Oakley points by sporting spidery lashes. Try this interesting old-fashioned look by using tons of volumizing mascara (three to four coats) and then take some eyebrow tweezers and clump together your lashes by squeezing a few lashes into mini triangles. Pair this with a matte berry lip or some bronze shadow and this looks tres cute!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimINyqkHBhqHGZ9SvrThQyguhxCf-crARvtN_E7-OwFxI-CSI1bi0nzXH_eVvusqKXWPHlOVszOtDJoVazI9FSFqMMEglKst8SCZ28aqc6-xc9y_2W7LT3DMBYkBH242u-JTtud2jmslb_/s1600/liner.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="283" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimINyqkHBhqHGZ9SvrThQyguhxCf-crARvtN_E7-OwFxI-CSI1bi0nzXH_eVvusqKXWPHlOVszOtDJoVazI9FSFqMMEglKst8SCZ28aqc6-xc9y_2W7LT3DMBYkBH242u-JTtud2jmslb_/s320/liner.png" t$="true" width="320" /></a></div>Thick liner is definitely a dramatic look to branch out to. If you are just starting with makeup, I wouldn't suggest going straight to this look. I would suggest a thick felt-tip liquid eyeliner (<strong>Try: </strong>NYX Super FAT Marker, $10 ULTA). Trace your upper lashline with higher pressure to create a thick line, then you can create a small wing, or just leave it be. I would definitely not combine this look with spidery lashes! Then it's way too dramatic! Moderation, readers!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1JBrSh1UYc_TAGueQ2xv55DxvLhVKB2-I0LK-mgvoT9vhQeH3LWdFJ93V2URh_bmoSEit9a5phnknV6Ht48BPlQW3PEvke1q2TbBbPZmsHd0oU8p4TGz1NRm06BkRlHb6FJSXHi0Mn5yf/s1600/bold.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="215" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1JBrSh1UYc_TAGueQ2xv55DxvLhVKB2-I0LK-mgvoT9vhQeH3LWdFJ93V2URh_bmoSEit9a5phnknV6Ht48BPlQW3PEvke1q2TbBbPZmsHd0oU8p4TGz1NRm06BkRlHb6FJSXHi0Mn5yf/s400/bold.png" t$="true" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Bold brows have also been making a comeback. I don't know about you, but when I think of bold brows, I think of chestnut hair, bronze French skin, and defined pouty lips. In the brow department, we always can look to beauties like Camila Belle, or Audrey Hepburn for inspiration. Brow powder is my personal choice for creating beautiful big brows. Brushing the brows upwards is also a new trend for the fall.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Alright, those are a few of fall beauty trends I am going to share with you. I hope you try out some of these looks, if you want a photo tutorial on any of it, please leave it in the comments. Leave any suggestions for back to school posts in the comments as well!</div>metroswimgalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05323997156896918614noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3737713861049158279.post-51788524381217068282011-08-08T13:51:00.001-04:002011-08-08T13:51:00.168-04:00Back To School: Fall 2011 Nail Polish Trends!Hi, everyone! Today I am going to start off my back to school series with a few nail trends I thought you would love. If you are a nail polish addict like me, then you will find this extremely interesting! If not...well, sorry! But I have a few trends to show you, let's get started!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnBjWHtqdIZtXG15YhMjdVz4Orw7TcffXRQmJbbyiaG3dML1qwKM4nVAx0PSzxswyKclbp5GiYyooZDvwULOXpXO0oZQJFrJFYHfz8SFVcXJyXaXzmDkWW8WblQWUSHLwxOeoke4BY642o/s1600/accent+nails2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="233" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnBjWHtqdIZtXG15YhMjdVz4Orw7TcffXRQmJbbyiaG3dML1qwKM4nVAx0PSzxswyKclbp5GiYyooZDvwULOXpXO0oZQJFrJFYHfz8SFVcXJyXaXzmDkWW8WblQWUSHLwxOeoke4BY642o/s320/accent+nails2.png" t$="true" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Accent nails have been huge lately, and I anticipate that they are going to continue to be huge throughout the fall and winter. There are many ways to pull off an accent nail. One way is to paint all of your nails the same color, except for the ring finger. Then paint the ring finger a glitter or shimmer polish in the same color family. A different way to pull off an accent nail (not pictured) is to paint your nails all the same color except the ring finger again, and paint the ring finger a the same color either a shade darker or lighter.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuD4ZLpkDdXtp_O6xl2d86Z9C4VK8taaHLHVbNdNYzevuGOF8nBmjU4RJeu7wGu0nzlKgfS4y1hRHBTJcGiHgY9rwrdjP42kr_DzEPFzBWvFjWt26p3kNRIkQFkftsTii-0UykpBZ3217-/s1600/nudes.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuD4ZLpkDdXtp_O6xl2d86Z9C4VK8taaHLHVbNdNYzevuGOF8nBmjU4RJeu7wGu0nzlKgfS4y1hRHBTJcGiHgY9rwrdjP42kr_DzEPFzBWvFjWt26p3kNRIkQFkftsTii-0UykpBZ3217-/s320/nudes.png" t$="true" width="313" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Nudes have always been a trend for fall and back to school. Nudes actually elongate the finger, making your nails seem longer. So, if you want longer looking nails, I would suggest to start with nudes. <strong>Try:</strong> OPI San Tan-Tonio, $8 ULTA; Essie Cafe Forgot, $8 ULTA; Rimmel London Hot Cocoa, $3.99 Drugstore.com</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKTsPCUeecHqcw025l-2brkX4qvzYTxp_lYLaFMjbNfYKtMtTe9zeYso3WT8KTve1jr-eLu_Of0BnPdkPuJxWBciaH5T6TpASK3bbGcA9Pi4Fn-bihJKViJt0IPhGjJ1uc7wO_r88Y2EOx/s1600/berries.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="297" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKTsPCUeecHqcw025l-2brkX4qvzYTxp_lYLaFMjbNfYKtMtTe9zeYso3WT8KTve1jr-eLu_Of0BnPdkPuJxWBciaH5T6TpASK3bbGcA9Pi4Fn-bihJKViJt0IPhGjJ1uc7wO_r88Y2EOx/s320/berries.png" t$="true" width="320" /></a></div>Berries are always pretty during the fall and back to school. I don't know about you, but darker nails always make me feel more sophisticated :) <strong>Try: </strong>Cult Nails Iconic, $10 CultNails.com; Rescue Beauty Bruised, $18 RescueBeauty.com; Revlon Cherries in the Snow, $4.80 drugstores.<br />
<br />
<br />
So there are all of the trends of nail polishes for back to school and fall. I hope you enjoyed this post. Do you have any other trends you've been noticing on the runways and such? Leave those along with any suggestions for my back to school series in the comments!metroswimgalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05323997156896918614noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3737713861049158279.post-79131564123556574102011-08-07T13:04:00.001-04:002011-08-07T13:06:48.707-04:00Back to School: Leave Your Requests Here!<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Hi guys! I know that I have been MIA for the past month or so. To be honest, I have been basically living out of my suitcase this entire summer. I think I was home altogether two weeks this entire summer. Hopefully that explains the lack of posts! That is why I was trying to prewrite as many posts as I could, but it didn't work out as I had originally hoped. I hope that I can start doing more posts once the school year starts, because maybe I'll have more to write about? </div><br />
Anyways, onto the real reason for this post: I am going to be doing a back to school series, starting either today or tomorrow. I will sporadically post new back to school posts. But, I don't want to post anything you guys don't want to read! So, please leave your requests for back to school posts as well as any other posts in the comments, because I will definitely do as many as possible! I will do anything from photo tutorials, hair tutorials, product recommendations, what's in my school bag, etc. Just leave what you want in the comments! Alright, so that's basically the point of this post, see you soon!<br />
<br />

I have tried so many new products during the month of July that I loved and couldn't wait to share with you. There are so many favorites this month, so let's get started!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVnAN0Q39-klPBKv5qGlXXnkNFOpgAYzeJk6P9c6tANlvQXvqmU_jgoSonBOqU3hpKmL7ccZchMxJoz3l0THRo_t6VMqg6iIaLBjvsFop9xCNWqK8IeDtKx8nYZ36Qhw6R5R8MAQqHTmtI/s1600/favorites.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVnAN0Q39-klPBKv5qGlXXnkNFOpgAYzeJk6P9c6tANlvQXvqmU_jgoSonBOqU3hpKmL7ccZchMxJoz3l0THRo_t6VMqg6iIaLBjvsFop9xCNWqK8IeDtKx8nYZ36Qhw6R5R8MAQqHTmtI/s640/favorites.png" t$="true" width="640" /></a></div><br />
1. Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate ($12, Sephora/ULTA): This is super great for summer and it makes my lips feel so soft, with a nice wash of color that makes it look like I put a lot of effort itno myself! I did a review of this product that you can see here.<br />
<br />
2. MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Petting Pink ($14.50, MAC): This is great for days on the beach you want to look a little put together because it gives off a bit of a glossy finish, and has a sheer wash of a peachy pink. Plus, it has SPF 15 to protect your lips from getting sunburned!<br />
<br />
3. CoverGirl AquaSmoothers Tinted Moisturizer ($6, Drugstores): I feel like I have mentioned this product in so many posts, even though I've only had it for a month! I did a review of this product you can see <a href="http://beautybrainswhatelse.blogspot.com/2011/07/review-covergirl-aqua-smoothers-tinted.html">here</a>.<br />
<br />
4. Fiji Passionfruit Body Spray ($12, Bath & Body Works): I am absolutely in love with this scent for summer. To me, this is summer in a bottle. It smells like sunscreen and fruit and kiwi and everything good! I have been wearing this almost every day this month!<br />
<br />
5. Love Spell Body Lotion ($12, Victoria's Secret): This smells wonderful! I am normally not a very floral scented person, I like fruit more. But there is something about this smell that makes me want to smell it all day long!<br />
<br />
6. Zoya Pandora ($8, ULTA): This is the <strong>perfect</strong> nude pink for any time of the year. Normally, I am one of those people who assign nail colors to the seasons. But this color goes perfectly with every season, and I only needed <u>one coat</u> for it to be opaque! I did a NOTD of this polish you can see, <a href="http://beautybrainswhatelse.blogspot.com/2011/07/notd-zoya-pandora.html">here</a>.<br />
<br />
7. e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush ($3, Target): This is an amazing brush for $3! I am amazed at the quality because many times e.l.f. brushes are a hit or miss, even the Professional line. But this brush is incredible. It is so soft, and it doesn't shed when washed. No bristles fall out when applying, it is amazing!<br />
<br />

PacSun Bathingsuit SeparatesI know I normally don't do many of these posts, but I felt bad for not telling you guys. On my way up to my lovely vacation spot, I passed a <a href="http://www.pacsun.com/">PacSun</a> with a "Up to 60% Off!" sign in the window. Of course, I pulled over and spend just a little time in there. They have amazing suits and most of them are $6.99 or $9.99. I walked away with two tops, one $6.99 and one $9.99, and I couldn't be happier! The suits are gorgeous, and they still have a various size selection, and I thought that I would just let you know about my lovely findings and alert you about a new sale!<br />

Sally Hansen Insta Dri?)<strong><u>Backstory: </u></strong>I have been using the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat for my nails for almost three months now. Once I went through half the product in my bottle, the product would come out very clumpy and sticky and produce bubbles in my nails. I wasn't paying $5.50 for half a bottle of top coat. Still, I stayed with the product. Two bottles later (well, two half bottles later.....) I realized that this was just a waste of money. I had heard great things about the Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat, and when in Target a few days ago armed with a $1 off Sally Hansen item, I decided to pick it up and try it out.<br />
<br />
<strong><u>Pros:</u></strong> This is a great top coat and gives great amounts of shine to your nails. Literally hours later, it looks like my nails were freshly painted. That is absolutely definitely a plus in this top coat. The claim was a 60-second dry time, and it did live up to the claim as well! The formula is a perfect consistency, not too thick, nor too thin. <br />
<br />
<strong><u>Cons:</u></strong> I can only think of one con for this top coat. Now, I may have been a little impatient and started using my fingers a little too soon, but I did notice that when I was in the shower, somehow my nail scratched another nail, leaving a teeny tiny dent in the nail. No biggy though, I just licked it and smoothed it out. (Please, don't tell me you've never tried it!)<br />
<br />
<strong><u>Versus Insta Dri</u></strong>: The formula for the Mega Shine is definitely thinner, but as I said, not too thin. The Insta-Dri was very thick, and could go on streaky sometimes. (I know--it's a top coat, going on streaky...?). The Insta-Dri also gives bubbles on the nails as it dries, which is very unsatisfying. The Mega Shine does not produce bubbles at all.<br />
<br />
<strong><u>To Sum it All Up:</u></strong> I think this is definitely better than the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri and I think this will be my new favorite top coat for now on.<br />
<br />
What is your favorite top coat? Have you ever tried the Mega Shine or Insta-Dri? What did you think? Leave your answers to these along with post suggestions in the comments!metroswimgalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05323997156896918614noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3737713861049158279.post-31804484227087495442011-07-24T14:57:00.000-04:002011-07-24T14:57:00.265-04:00Small Collective Sephora Haul!I recently made a few trips to Sephora when I bought just a couple things each, and instead of making super mini hauls, I thought I would combine it into one almost-normal sized haul. This really isn't too interesting, just mostly a few things I needed, so don't get too excited haha!<br />

</div><div align="left">3. Sephora by OPI Chic Nail Prints in Snowflakes ($5, Sephora): I have been wanting to try these or the Sally Hansen ones. Though, I can't justify spending so much on a disposable nail polish after one use. Sephora's are $15 and Sally Hansen's are $10. So, when I saw these on the sale rack along with two other wintry designs, I thought it would be great to try out during the holiday season this year!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">4. Benefit Feelin' Cheeky Minis Set ($15, Sephora): I feel like everyone and their mother has gotten this set since Blair Fowler (juicystar07 on YouTube) included these in her Sephora haul last month. Though, I am proud to say that I actually got this before Blair posted that video! (yes, I just had to put that out there...) From buying this set I know that I will definitely purchase the full size High Beam once I run out, possibly along with Benetint and Posietint.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">5. Sephora by OPI Nail Polish in IM Beauty ($5, Sephora): Again, this was on the sale rack. I have always wanted to try a Sephora by OPI product. Though, Sephora by OPI is more expensive than OPI, and I already have a hard enough time justifying spending $8 on a nail polish as it is. So, when I saw this one on sale for $5, I snatched it up. Good thing I was really wanting a yellow nail polish!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">So, that is my entire collective Sephora haul. Not too exciting, I know. But if you would like a full review on any of these products, please leave them in the comments-- even if its the blotting linens!</div><div align="left"><br />

(Using Kitchen Ingredients!)I was browsing on VitalJuice and came across this post about a self tanner to use at home in your tub with ingredients found in your kitchen! All you need is black tea bags, boiling water, and a spray bottle!<br />
<br />
See the post <a href="http://vitaljuice.com/entry_detail/everywhere/9836/This_technique_is_so_easy_you_wont_be-leaf_it_.htm">here</a>.<br />
<br />
<em>"Required time: About 30-40 minutes</em><br />
<br />
<em><br />
</em><br />
<em>Skill level: Goof-proof</em><br />
<em>Ingredients:</em><br />
<em>4 black tea bags </em><br />
<em>2 cups boiling water</em><br />
<em>Sponge or spray bottle</em><br />
<em>Optional:</em><br />
<em>Body lotion</em><br />
<em>Pure cocoa powder</em><br />
<em><br />
</em><br />
<em>Instructions:</em><br />
<em>When water has boiled, add the tea bags to steep. Leave in for 10-15 minutes, or until tea is dark and cool enough to touch.</em><br />
<em>In the meantime, take a shower to ensure your skin is oil- and sweat-free. Afterwards, make sure skin is completely dry. Stand on something you don't mind getting dirty. If using a sponge, drench it in the tea and wipe all over your body. If using a spray bottle, fill it with tea and spray evenly. Let skin air-dry and apply another coat for a deeper shade. Tea will stain clothes if wet, so make sure you're all dry before dressing. The "tan" should last 3-4 days. Optional: For bonus color, mix cocoa powder into body lotion until you reach desired color and apply for an all-over bronzing boost."</em><br />
<br />

<br />
<br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Korres Lip Butters have always been a holy grail product for many bloggers and reviewers. And I have to agree! This product is probably one of--if not my top!--lip conditioning treatment/butter/whatever. This has a creamy texture that is incredible and literally feels like butter on your lips. There is also a sheer wash of color, so it sort of looks like you are wearing a lip color, when really you are just conditioning your lips with a soft, creamy lip butter!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I truly cannot find anything wrong with this product. Well, actually, the price isn't ideal, but with so many makeup brands these days, it is hard to find one that has cheap products. Still, $12 isn't bad for the incredible product you are recieving. <br />
<br />
I would definitely see myself using this during school as well, because it comes off more natural and more effortless. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!<br />

I can not even describe how much I love this polish. First of all, the color is gorgeous. It isn’t loud or too soft. It doesn’t look like I have mannequin hands, either. It sort of reminds me of a ballerina. I feel very pretty and graceful when I wear it, LOL! This was the first Zoya polish I’ve ever tried, and I will definitely be purchasing more Zoya polishes since this one is formulated so well! In my opinion, this color can be worn in any season, not just limited to summer or winter. The best part?! It only took one coat for me for this polish to be opaque. Why do two coats if you don’t need it? I was so happy about this! I finished the manicure off with white feathers on the ring fingers.<o:p></o:p><br />

In particular, inexpensive clothing pieces. So, I have decided to break it down for you guys, and will do a post on this new series, "Summer Staple Pieces!" every other day. Today's category is...<br />
<div align="center"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">SHORTS!</span></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left">The first shorts trend we are going to look at for the summer would be high-waisted shorts:</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAQTSItXS76bae0p39RCNEpWiMJ2UXIwrXdsJdHO87AGnN12pySptEsHbWKSw-IfJLqnc9XK79_7AWpg9bWKytr_PqbSaR9qi3FalbLMbgfv6gbmU0HdnKEhRO5uQo4QwTT7DISoXJ00Rr/s1600/highwaisted.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="532" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAQTSItXS76bae0p39RCNEpWiMJ2UXIwrXdsJdHO87AGnN12pySptEsHbWKSw-IfJLqnc9XK79_7AWpg9bWKytr_PqbSaR9qi3FalbLMbgfv6gbmU0HdnKEhRO5uQo4QwTT7DISoXJ00Rr/s640/highwaisted.png" width="640" /></a></div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">1. dEliAs($19.99): I actually own these shorts, super comfortable because they are made with spandex! Sets one off like a picture frame with a great tan!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">2. Forever 21 ($11.00): These are such versatile shorts. They could be dressed up or down!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">3. H&M ($24.50): So pretty for a day shopping, a casual party, or going to the movies!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">4. Forever 21 ($15.80): These are a gorgeous color to wear with a white, grey, navy, or even orange (color blocking, another hot trend!) top and some cute sandals.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">5. Hollister Co ($39.50): These are a bit more pricey on the cheaper end, but still a nice investment if you love high-waisted shorts.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">The second shorts trend we are going to look at are patterned shorts:</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiB-tOiuwOwQB5oYGs3jqwbp-z01q9BonRHu7eQmaDoZAN9sYFlPuDBqWGVefCzOiyi9GPt8aTZ7L3JESMnax8G6TO9npbJfdtYtTGPD6bo2kyqxnUgqCsHOHQWcvp2HUkJHMEgihNYv-I/s1600/patterned.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="434" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiB-tOiuwOwQB5oYGs3jqwbp-z01q9BonRHu7eQmaDoZAN9sYFlPuDBqWGVefCzOiyi9GPt8aTZ7L3JESMnax8G6TO9npbJfdtYtTGPD6bo2kyqxnUgqCsHOHQWcvp2HUkJHMEgihNYv-I/s640/patterned.png" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left">1. Walmart ($12.00): These are super cute and would look adorable with a grey shirt or tank top with a little flower headband or something!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">2. Billabong ($39.50): Super cute, very nautical feeling! A new trend for summer, definitely!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">3. PacSun ($49.50): You'll certainly have luck finding summer love in these shorts! The cute horseshoe detailing adds an unexpected pop to your outfit.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">4. Walmart ($12.00): These are also adorable and can be worn with a simple top.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">5. Forever 21 ($13.80): This is another versatile pair of shorts. They acn be dressed down with a white, flowy blouse and some wedges for a little more dressier night. They also can be worn with a white v-neck and converse for a more edgy feel.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">The third trend is, in my opinion, always going to be a summer staple trend, bright colors!:</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIt-TRpIf3K11P7Q2IeIDd2t3Cd0vcgZu_vxecNE5UIEHvD-e3DreacPu40CE48_cZI-0EH8LBgpygVgqzeV01STY1HDDkN2j-hfz5JfBXd2JjYOom1LcydNMCsKoJfYMOlij2J4dU1Dw-/s1600/brights.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="219" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIt-TRpIf3K11P7Q2IeIDd2t3Cd0vcgZu_vxecNE5UIEHvD-e3DreacPu40CE48_cZI-0EH8LBgpygVgqzeV01STY1HDDkN2j-hfz5JfBXd2JjYOom1LcydNMCsKoJfYMOlij2J4dU1Dw-/s320/brights.png" width="320" /></a></div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">1. Target ($17.99): These are a gorgeous color and would look great against bronze, tan skin!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">2. Walmart ($12.00 These are super cute, yet another pair that you can dress up and down!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">3. PacSun ($29.99): These are super bright, you'll be sure to turn heads on the beach, at the pool, or in the mall.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">4. Forever 21 ($12.50): These are also adorable and can be worn with a crop top or off the shoulder.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">And finally the last trend in shorts we will be looking at is whites. Whites are one of the only colors that have a specific season in which they are allowed to be worn (Memorial Day-Labor Day...duh!!). Against a tan, or even not a tan, they can make someone look super bronze. That is why choosing the right white shorts can be so crucial!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUyYdu3ThSObxM3zwrM3DSPndLv09MQ5DsA6hu2fWwzmL0rGoO9oVSkv32hSgWhEi0ude-QcbyggHPCTB0RWgLFg7c5edqjrr3OhcBQDAcdVLQtNVxN7d9tvD_MlqTMYoUvjpaIvETxnYq/s1600/whites.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="386" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUyYdu3ThSObxM3zwrM3DSPndLv09MQ5DsA6hu2fWwzmL0rGoO9oVSkv32hSgWhEi0ude-QcbyggHPCTB0RWgLFg7c5edqjrr3OhcBQDAcdVLQtNVxN7d9tvD_MlqTMYoUvjpaIvETxnYq/s640/whites.png" width="640" /></a></div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">1. dEliAs ($24.50): These are gorgeous, especially with the crochet detailing.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">2. Walmart ($12.00): I love the big button on it--it differentiates itself from any other pair of white shorts!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">3. Forever 21 ($19.95): These are super cute and can be dressed up or down!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">4. American Eagle Outfitters ($24.99): These ones are a bit longer so you can wear this a little more fancier!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">5. Hollister Co.($20.00): I love the gold stitching on these! And they marked down!</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">So, I really hope you all liked this post, it took forever to do! So, I do hope that you buy or consider buying any of these shorts because they are all trendy and afforable. Please expect a post on summer trends in tank tops on Sunday!</div><div align="left"><br />

I have been basically living out of my suitcase because I have been traveling so much, and I have a lot of things going on in my personal life, too. But anyways, I am going to try to prewrite some posts to post throughout the week! Anyways, onto the review!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicio0XqM6g1w-Fcc5xdc5Sb90J5mLILj0VtW38jFel2p7ZMoBTn5zjN8x2jvExC5ppuQjrz0VVRThtrRHqG3EgY8aC1owYxp5r2GCx6cHsYwul1z0o_WBN0VPsBBKGSP5KO52lEPfuJ8IG/s1600/smoothers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicio0XqM6g1w-Fcc5xdc5Sb90J5mLILj0VtW38jFel2p7ZMoBTn5zjN8x2jvExC5ppuQjrz0VVRThtrRHqG3EgY8aC1owYxp5r2GCx6cHsYwul1z0o_WBN0VPsBBKGSP5KO52lEPfuJ8IG/s320/smoothers.jpg" width="218" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">CoverGirl AquaSmoothers Tinted Moisturizer (around $6, drugstores)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><strong><u>Backstory:</u></strong> Before I started my travels, I knew that I was going to be at the beach a lot and I don't obviously want foundation, and I am the type of girl who would wear a tinted moisturizer to the beach (see my <a href="http://beautybrainswhatelse.blogspot.com/2011/05/overdoing-it-beach-makeup.html">Beach Makeup post</a>) if I am not going in the water. So, I headed over to a few beauty forums and asked if people had any recomendations about tinted moisturizers that don't give a greasy feel. Most people recommended the <a href="http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P109936&categoryId=C12210">Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer</a> with SPF 20. This sounded like a great one to try because the foundation has gotten raving reviews. However, I couldn't bring myself to purchase a $42 tinted moisturizer when I don't even own a belt that expensive. So, I asked about a drugstore or wallet-friendly tinted moisturizer, and the only product I recieved feedback on was the CoverGirl AquaSmoothers Tinted Moisturizer. Literally, that was the only product that returned results. So, if it had to be all of these peoples' favorite, then why couldn't it be mine?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><strong><u>Coverage:</u></strong> A tinted moisturizer isn't supposed to be a makeup mask over your face. It is defined as a moisturizer with a bit of coverage. And that is what this product gives you. Minimal coverage, but its does even a lot of things out. Trust me, you are not being skimped on what the label claims and what you are given. There is a little bit of coverage, and for me it is enough. For a tinted moisturizer, it definitely is tinted!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><u><strong>Finish:</strong></u> Tinted moisturizers are often known to have a greasy finish. There is one exception to this, though: this product! The finish is so natural and matte, I was actually sort of shocked when I first tried it on! Amazing finish!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">To sum it all up, I think I will stick to this tinted moisturizer for this summer and most of the upcoming school year (foundation for school? no thanks ;) I would definitely repurchase this tinted moisturizer, and recommend it to friends. I have been on vacation, and still am, but I haven't had internet connection until today. So, I thought since I am on vacation, it would be a great idea to show you actually what is in my beach bag. I am about to head out to the beach in a few minutes, so let's get this party started!<br />
<br />
<strong>THE BAG</strong><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaMyZ7TJK4vqF-HoRlyGV8dVJsCWS2zkhD9ulKIaMWCr7cJKaenWeZX7WJ1PBEDV-xuO3zjDrNRavGViZNwiwl9xy08zpgSx2WKCrlORw5OcFHQSOHwZWxaGewNeKhDo3uCPfnfofxvTWL/s1600/IMG0119.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" m$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaMyZ7TJK4vqF-HoRlyGV8dVJsCWS2zkhD9ulKIaMWCr7cJKaenWeZX7WJ1PBEDV-xuO3zjDrNRavGViZNwiwl9xy08zpgSx2WKCrlORw5OcFHQSOHwZWxaGewNeKhDo3uCPfnfofxvTWL/s320/IMG0119.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>From H&M<br />
<br />
<strong>WHAT'S IN IT</strong><br />
<ul><li><strong>A Towel: </strong>Obviously, the first thing in anyone's beach bag...</li>
<li><strong>Two Books:</strong> I have one pleasure-read, and one summer reading book for school. (Pleasure-read: It's Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han) (Summer Reading: A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway)</li>
<li><strong>Wallet:</strong> In case I want to get something to eat at the snack shack!</li>
<li><strong>Phone:</strong> A must-have all the time!</li>
<li><strong>Tortoise-shell Hair Clip: </strong>My hair is always in my face at the beach, so I like to pull it up with this.</li>
<li><strong>Contact case & Solution:</strong> In case my contacts start bugging out on me!</li>
<li><strong>Headphones & iPod: </strong>Listen to music when I'm laying out!</li>
<li><strong>Lip Balm with SPF:</strong> My lips always get sunburned, and I never have SPF lip balm with me. This way, I'll always have it!</li>
<li><strong>Pop-Up Hairbrush with Mirror:</strong> This doesn't seem to make sense when I also have a comb in here, too....?</li>
<li><strong>Comb:</strong> To tangle through my wet hair so it doesn't get all knotty!</li>
<li><strong>Camera</strong>: To capture those lip changing Kodak-moments on the beach ;)</li>
<li><strong>Seventeen Magazine:</strong> Just got my new issue! Perfect beach read!</li>
<li><strong>Lemon Juice in a Spray Bottle:</strong> To spritz through my hair before going out in the sun, to naturally lighten my locks!</li>
<li><strong>Sunscreen:</strong> To reapply! I use whatever I can find for my body, and Aveeno Active Naturals Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion SPF 30 for my face.</li>
<li><strong>Gum</strong>: So I don't pig out on chips while I'm there!</li>
<li><strong>Altoids:</strong> See above.......</li>
</ul>So that is everything in my beach bag, I would love to know what you keep in yours! Please leave a comment below, and tell me what you keep in your beach bag! Have a happy, sunny, safe weekend!metroswimgalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05323997156896918614noreply@blogger.com4
